2 solves tied mallard, 1 solve tied mallard except for a 11+10 from 2c4 with variations, 1 solve would've been 1 move from mallard except for writing mistake, and 2 absolute disasters on the best scrambles. Overall i'm ok with my performance this competition, missing a free 19 on a1 sucks cause this could've easily led to a sub21 mean but i did have cold hands and had to poop for half of the attempt. Very happy to be 2nd in both rounds and 3rd overall, I love actually having people of similar or better level to compete against instead of just against nr. Congrats to Radek on a super cool 18 and a win with a 20.33 and to Krzystof for triple woaj in round 2.

R1 was bait-sprint A1, one-trick A2 and a tormentful-bait A3, while all I had on my mind was lunch. 20,19,22 human optimal doesn't tell the full story here. For R2 - calling PR2 a wasted set feels wrong, so maybe I won't, but it really feels like it. 20,19,19 maybe possible here, but 22,19,19 absolutely achievable and should've been easy. Overall there's still much to improve, but I'm happy to break a streak of poor solves and I look forward to the upcoming weeks with 6 more means to come.

Round 1: Lucky but decent a1, then a2 and a3 like 5 minutes away from tying mallard as well, so dr finding was good and finishes were shit today, mainly just time management issues, but 22.33 is still decent so we go again tommorrow Round 2: Better finishes, worse dr finding, but overall just screwed over by the scramble quality, 22.00 human findable is just complete nonsense Overall comp: Sub23 mo2r and 1.33 average missed from human findable is pretty decent, but the 20.67 miss from my htrs in round 1 is a bit sad, though i wouldn't say R1 had particularly amazing scrambles, just a bit better than average eo-wise. The whole comp felt pretty bad but stat-wise I think i did pretty decent with the scrambles I was given, not perfect but no huge throws: 2 pretty much perfect solves, 1 miss by 1 move(dr miss from rzp), 2 misses by 2 moves(dr miss from not switching rzp, finish miss from htr cause time manamgement) and 1 miss by 3 moves(miss by 2 minutes of time management)

The scramble set was full of potential, the first and third ones, in particular, were excellent with so many short EO options and cool paths to explore. The second scramble, however, was a different story. I felt all the pressure from that 19 on the first attempt, and it really gave me a hard time. For a while, it looked grim, until two minutes before the end, I thought I’d have to settle for a terrible 29. I managed to write down the 25 just in time. I've never had such a low average, not even at home, so I'm beyond happy with this result. It’s also the European female record for both single and average.

Not the result I wanted from my side. If we consider the set from Mallard's point of view this was a ER potential. First solve I skill issued in terms of slice finishing knowledge, second solve I skill issued in terms of HTR paths and got unlucky for not checking the right 5 movers and in the last solve I had not enough time to find the 20. 22 21 22(/20) from my DRs (and 4 move eos); 21 18 20 overall. Need to put the work in if I want to beat 20.67 and stop losing places in the rankings (2 places lost in one weekend).

Finally I get to beat 22.33. The 18 was a great opportunity and but it influenced slightly my performance (especially in the second attempt). I'm not completely satisfied cause minor management choices keep me away from getting a very good mean (and NR).

22.33 tied PR and 2024 Italian Champion. Looking back at last year championship I grew a lot, giving that was my first time using DR in comp and now I am a more mature solver. This comp was very satisfying in terms of nerves, probably the chillest of this year. Pleased by the fact that I solved safely and always had two solutions (that's not the case normally for me). After second attempt I saw the margin that I had and solved like butter, without esitation. Surely some of the solutions that I found were a little lucky but I saw that luck comes also from speed, more things you check more are the chances that you get a easier DR and a better result. On the other side if I went full send on the second maybe I would have found the 21 and get NR mean. Today my goal was to solve well and the NR curse didn't get me too much, hopefully I'll get it.

22.33 is very good for me. This mean has repaid the 285 attempts made in the last seven months. It is one move away from NR but I'm not sad about it, I know that if I do well I can get it. 24,17,22 would have been a "minnie average" but I don't put myself at that level for now. I want to thank the Italian community and the FMC server for supporting my journey, in particular Tommaso for making this competition possible. There is still room for improvement and I think I can manage to average consistently sub 23 for the end of this year. Next goal: NR mean.

This sucks but honestly I don't feel that bad since the results are not good for my skill level at the moment. The competition is called "Don't DNF" and I DNFed the goofiest way possible. Crazy how I got 3BLD mean before FMC mean.

Fun with Fewest Moves in Kraków 2025 · April 12, 2025· 6 solution(s)

At this competition, I had my best official performance ever — and it came at the right moment, with the Polish scrambles. I’ve been chasing this goal ever since I got my 22.33, about a year ago — just one move away from the historic 22.00 mean of Sebastiano. In the rounds after that, I had many shots to get the NR mean, but I fell short under pressure and made many errors: - 23.00 at Optimal Solving in Povo 2024, with the super sprint scramble on A3 (80+ sub-5 EOs and 21.00 potential). - DNF mean at FMC 2024: 20–24 start, then I had the 12+2 to get 22 but forgot to check extensions (21.33 potential). Then Euros came, and Sebastiano woke the ancient one, lowering the NR mean to 21.33. That was great news for him, having tried many times to break his five-year standing record — but it meant the NR was even further away for me. Then more rounds came: - 23.33 at Slovenian FMC Nationals 2024, with a missed NISS 3-move EO and a forgotten 4c4e setup (21.33 potential). - 22.33 at FMC Italy 2024, with not enough time to find the 21 on A2, even though I had 4 different 10+4s (21.33 potential). - 22.00 at Europe FMC Friends – Winter 2024, starting with an 18, but had to deal with mid scrambles and missed a 22 on the last (21.00 potential). And then… this. I never had a potential mean under 21 moves. These scrambles had a lot to offer — all solutions came from instant RZP and quite easy HTRs (even the 7+5). Only the first solution was close to the time limit; for A2 and A3, I found the solutions quite early. 20.67 is very low, and I don’t think I’ll beat this mean without a good amount of luck. I want to thank my parents for supporting this trip abroad, the FMC community for all the love from around the world, and all the people I met in Poland for making this trip unforgettable. Especially Radomił, Wojciech, and Radosław for the great time we had together and the hospitality they showed me. A big thanks also to my Italian community and everyone who sent messages of appreciation — hopefully, we’ll have the chance to celebrate once I get back home. I don’t really know what goal to set now. I think I’ll just keep practicing and start enjoying the event for what it is.

Very lucky to not be down by 2 or even 3 moves after a chaotic A1, and then double tie with Mallard for A2 A3, NR is doable on this set but I’m very happy with this title as competition is France is quite ferocious.
