Initially, HTR was in 17 but left a 2e2e in the DR faces so I added an L2 to solve it. There was a 22 on this EO, which I missed cause I'm not that used to F2 B2 R trigger. My DR was 23 optimal with 4qt, probably findable if I just looked into +2qt extensions. Another way to find that 23 is by inserting the F2 B2 sequence in another part of the solution cancelling one. Not too bothered anyway. I was not confident of my stuff after a trash first round. Mallard finds the 22 or a 21 with an R U2 L trigger. My attempt was not going very well before finding this DR. Decided to switch after the EO because it had 3c4e. The moment I saw the blocks I tried HTR and found a 19 to 3e and then changing the HTR path found this 20 to slice. There were four 21 but no +0. After writing the solution at 35 minutes I tried the EOs that I had remaining but I didn't check it deeply. There was a findable 17 on L (R D R). The scramble was 16 optimal but it was not findable. When I tried that EO I saw that was one move away from DR-2e. Should have checked JZP... It's a shame missing these solves but on the other hand, I'm ok with it. The last attempt would have been more stressful and probably I would have choked it if I had a 17. Nerve racking attempt. Scramble had a lot of EOs but none of them was crazy good.
The problem was that 4 HTR equivalent EOs had the pieces for the 8e7c trigger and I was constantly distracted by that.
I had to mentally force myself to check other stuff because I knew that trying the R U L trigger would just be a waste of time.
Had a couple of DRs but none of them were great. Quite lucky with the 10-move finish.
Fortunately, I decided to check if there were some possible rewrites of the DR.
Mallard finds 22 so I'm quite pleased. After finding this solution I felt relieved and looked into the R U L cases just for the fun of it.
