I found this DR pretty early but I noted it as a 2c4 lol. This is the first time I used ARM knowledge in comp to justify switching 7c8e (ARM 3c1e) 🙂 I found this 23 at sub-45 minutes: B2 R’ D B L D’ (L2 D B D)//4c3 (10) L2 B’ U2 F2 R2 F R2 F’ R2 L2 B2 L2//22 to slice that is +1 Then I went back to the ‘2c4’ at about 45-50 mins and since it was kinda blocky I gave it a try with blockbuilding and it instantly gave 21 lol. The solution is easily findable with HTR on normal but this way is funnier Also, in the last 4 minutes after writing down my solution and settling down I realised this replacement exists: U F2 R2 U R2 U2 L2 U2 -> U’ L2 U2 F2 R2 U R2// E slice in 20 I was unable to slice it in time but it turns out 21 is optimal from DR (and EO). Genuinely surprised that no one else found this tbh, but Lichi mentioned he at least found this EO but forgot to switch :/ I only had these 2 DRs on the scramble.

I honestly need to work on that kind of mental thing tbh, that’s something I’m not very good at imo 21 is optimal among all the DR variations. There’s a way to get 4c3 in 9 from inverse. This kind of made me realise that doing the longer path to DR on normal instead of the 6 mover would give better corners. The HTR trick is cool, but when I looked at my notes it turns out I had a fully completed 21 that I wrote out but I thought it was a 22 LOL U’ (R’ U’ D) L D2 R2 B2 L’ B2 L’ (L2 D2 L2 B’ D2 B’) (U2 F2 R2 B2) Tldr if I knew how to count I wouldn’t have had a chance to find a cool solution I tunneled very hard into this JZP combo after finding it, and I didn’t have any other DR because of that (you will see how this leads to problems in future attempts...) Optimal after U’ (R) and U’ (R’) are 20 but none of them follow the DR structure here so I think it’s safe to say I got optimal off of this JZP couple

I found this very cool DR at like 10 minutes: (U) U2 B2 L D R’ F R F’ L//cool 5 move trigger for 2c3 in 10, didnt even use it in the end In my head after this I really wanted it to be my solution so I honestly didn’t try very hard to find RZP in 5 off the 4 move EOs. I suppose in the end it didn’t really hurt that much since I ‘only’ missed woaj by 1, but I still think I could’ve gotten a 22 from some other DR and won the comp if I didn’t have a bad mentality in this attempt. I had this DR with a 22 optimal but it was not findable at all imo: R2 L2 D’ B’ U2 F2 R2 U L2 D//2c3, one of the variations has a 22 opt
