4/4/6 EO

There were 4 3 move EOs on this scramble and many many 4 movers so I was initially not planning to check any rzp in 5 on this. However after a quick scan of the NISS EOs I realised maybe that was not a wise decision so I started checking RZP in 5.

On this EO (U) gave RZP on green and I saw that adding an (F) gave JZP on white upon switching, and it's 4e4c. Imagine the shock upon NISSing and it's 1 more move to DR lol

I found this 7+2 pretty early and as a result the rest of my EO search time was spent trying to find DRs on a similar tier. I didn't end up getting any other DR because of that.

This finish was one of the first few things I tried on the DR, I spent the remaining time trying various 4q and NISS HTRs and didn’t find anything better

This is optimal for the whole scramble, my first time doing this in comp!

8/8/6 EO

Honestly this scramble was looking pretty bad until this nice DR showed up. Others found an 8+1 DR but I didn't write down the extension of the EO required to find it.

Optimal for this is 19 and requires a pretty simple HTR from the inverse, but I already had my hands full playing with a few different 20 to slice that I found from the normal, and this NISS one. Turns out not a single one gave sub-22??? man...

Even if I worked on the inverse right away it's not a guarantee that I'd start on the right DR variant to find the 19 anyway, so oh well

I also didn’t get any other DR on this, though I did miss that 8+1

6/8/8 scramble

another one that looked bad at first impressions. I found this 9+3 early but also had another 9+3:

B R' B L2 F//this EO is a bit obscure, no one else at the comp found it
R U' L' D//4b3 (9)

working on the worse one first, I quickly found a 21 backup:

B R' B L2 F
R' L2 D' L' U//extend (10)
(L) B2 D2 R' U2 R
D2 L2 D2 F2//20 to slice, 21 backup

I moved on to the 2c3 DR next and after finding the 13 to HTR I actually struggled to find a finish from that state for a while, but eventually I found the 7 move finish.

I felt like there might be something better but 20 is optimal from my 2 DRs.
