Before working on this DR I already had a pretty easy 22 from this DR:

But I didn't actually write down the slice solution for this when I found it, so when the other DR gave a direct finish without slicing I just submitted that instead.

The first of a few sprint/close-to-sprint scrambles that show up today. Having 4 8 move DRs to work with was a bit overwhelming, and I found this leave slice quite late at about 50 minutes so I was quite close to being in trouble

Obligatory I hate scrambles where there is no standout DR and you have to grind through a ton of 10 move DRs, this usually results in me missing good results on like 3 of them

This EO was the first one I checked and I basically had a 12 to HTR at <15 mins, as a result I speedran the rest of the EOs and missed a ton of stuff that other people found to get 21

the optimal for this DR is 19 and involves reverting to 4a2 then switching, I considered that in the attempt but then promptly forgot about it...

There are also possible 21s off the 12 to HTR as it is but I skill issued on all of them lol

We were joking at the comp that the scrambles in r2 will have the reverse quality that they did in r1, this round starts with a really good one then this awful one, so it was kind of true XD

This is probably the first time this way of extending the niss 4 mover has actually given a workable DR for me lol

I missed a pretty findable 22 from this DR despite checking it quite a lot (which Vincent found):

Early in the attempt from the same EO I found a 19 to slice:

Working on it a bit more it quickly became an 18 to slice:

This was neither +0 or +1 so I was left feeling a bit annoyed at my second 18+2 of today, so I started working on the 8+3 DR. I was mainly focusing on reducing to 4b2 and switching for both of its variations and didn’t find anything that would beat the potential 20 I already had. At about 45 mins I decided to just try reductions to 4a2 on normal and 18 to slice appeared just like that. I wasn’t hopeful it would +0 but when I saw that it did my hands just started shaking like crazy lol
